Just a windy Saturday....

It was so windy on Saturday so we decided to take the kids to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for the day. Grandma came along and Dad got a wheel chair to make it through the day! And what is a day in Denver without Casa Bonita?!?!? We headed there for dinner! It was a great day:)

And here we go again!....

Andy is going to have surgery AGAIN on Monday to remove the wire from his knee that they had put there to keep everything in tact. It's obviously not as major as the first surgery, but he will still have to be put out and deal with all those lovely effects. Hopefully it all goes as planned - it would be the first time since we started this whole journey! I am attaching the x-ray pictures so you can see the wire. It's attached to his knee cap down into his tibia.

Changes and Moving Forward

It's been a crazy week!

Kayla got both top and bottom expander's put in her mouth on Tuesday afternoon. She is definitely not loving it! We keep telling her someday she will be thankful that we have done this to her, but until she can eat normal food and talk without choking she is not going to believe this is all done for a good cause. Sorry, no pictures - the mouth is off limits!

Today Andy went to the office for the first time in 4 weeks. He has been working from home, but it was time to get back out into the world! He is tired and very sore so he will making this a gradual entrance - but it is nice to regain a little normalcy. I have one more round on my drop off - pick up routine!

And last but not least, Allie! She had been coming home from school with headaches daily so we paid a visit to the eye doc. She needed some glasses to help her focus when her eyes are up and down all day. Luckily there is no need for her wear them when she is active. She was pretty nervous about it until she was able to find some "fashionable" ones to go oh so well with her personality! One pair black and white and one pair brown and pink!

I am getting a massage tomorrow...and I think I deserve it!

Kayla as Jackie....

Kayla had the most exciting project of her 9 years of life yesterday. She has been working so hard on a report about Jackie Kennedy for the last few weeks. For those of you who know Kayla, she LOVES history - especially Presidental history - First Ladies, kids, dogs....you name it, she has a book on it! During the process of doing her research she learned that Grandpa Kenny knows a retired Secret Sevice Agent that actually protected Jackie in the White House. She was able to interview Mr. Newman and he even came to see her presentation and tell a few of her favorite stories to her class! She did such an amazing job and had the time of her life!
