Officially 9!

I can't believe she is 9! Kayla celebrated with her class at school by taking Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough Ice Cream. Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner and we had Chicken Wings followed by LOTS of presents her favorite - Chocolate Chip cake! One more year until the double digits:) Her "teacher" dress up shoes that really fit! So exciting:) An Emily Windsnap book....a fav at our house! Mr. Sketch markers....what every good teacher should have! Oh...and a Binding Machine...another teaching essential! Happy 9th Birthday Kayla! Allie loves her big sister:) A family shot...dad stuck on the couch - I think we are all a little tired..can you tell????

Allie wrote a special song for the special day....Mom video taped it on her camera and apparently you cannot rotate it....bummer, but I still have to share - good times!

Seriously???

That was the reaction I got after receiving a call from Andy while he was on a business trip in Connecticut to tell me that he had torn a tendon in his knee or as the Dr. referred to it as a "blown" a tendon in his knee. So ER trip in CT on Wednesday night, 4 1/2 hour flight home on Thursday morning, 1+ hours ride in the car from the airport to the Orthopedic Center and another 1+ hours in the waiting room. Finally saw the Dr. to hear the news we expected, surgery. Monday is the day...it will be a long one. He will likely stay the night at the hospital and then the recovery will begin with complete immobilization for 6 weeks! I'm attaching a few picture...they are not gory, but enough to send a shock through your system. You will notice the knee cap floating in his lower thigh.....
