Father's Day Camping Trip

I am a little behing on blogging...isn't summer supposed to be a time to relax??? Not in this house!

Anyway, we went camping on Father's Day for 2 nights up at Horsetooth. We had a TON of fun with our friends, the Axes BBQing, playing games, and jet skiing on the lake. It was the perfect camp trip until the 2nd night when the weather went from stormy, to severe to beyond severe. We packed up our camp site in 20-30 minutes of POURING RAIN and headed home. It is a good thing we did, we would have all been washed away by the time it was done! Hope all you Fathers out there at a great day!

Allie...the reading machine!

So, ever since Allie learned to read...she NEVER stops. During the school year, we would have to check on her every 15 minutes to make sure she was going to sleep. She would move lamps into her bed and have 20-30 books in bed with her at all times! I know its a great thing....but sometime she would be so sneaky she wouldn't go to sleep until 1 o'clock in the morning!

It's summer now, so she reads all day long(unless we are at the pool.) She has read two and 1/2 Junie B Jones books in the last 3 days and 10 regular sized books. Today, she read so much, she fell asleep while reading - at least she can just pick up where she left off when she wakes up!

Allie asleep with her book!

Swim Meet #2

I didn't post anything for the first swim meet of the season, Andy and I were busy trying to figure out a new system for the swim team! She did awesome, swam 5 events and came home with 5 blue (1st!) place ribbons! Best news of all - she qualified for State - which is her ultimate goal this season! Saturday was the 2nd meet of the season, the new system worked much better so I had some time to take a few pics and a video! Kayla swam 7 events and came home with 7 blue ribbons! She obviously is having a great season so far and LOVES it as usual!
